Hillsborough County Office of Consumer Protection - Pain Management Clinic License Regulation and Monitoring Software

Hillsborough County has an aggressive approach to battling the growing trade in prescription pain medications. Many  pain management clinics are called "pill mills" due to their practice of dispensing pain medications to addicts without asking questions and Hillsborough is cracking down requiring clinics to register and follow County regulations as well as the State laws that have been enacted.

For the office to do this quickly and efficiently they needed a cost-effective way to manage the intake and review process that goes along with the submission of pain clinic related documentation.

Documents can include: pain clinic applications, physician licenses, business tax receipts, background checks on all employees, volunteers, and the associated physicians that are responsible for prescriptions.  Additional supporting documents also include floor plans and the security methods for controlled substances. This type of regulation enforcement consists of multiple business processes to review, approve and continually monitor.

The agency can now easily review and manage all pain clinic license registrations and supporting documents using an easy to use web-based software solution that manages the information in one central location and features strict auditing providing the County with the necessary audit information when needed.
