Optix® Enters 15th Year

Veteran developer of Optix® Document Management and Workflow Systems sees renewed focus on security, reliability, and imaging fundamentals.
Flint Hill, VA, – mindwrap, developers of the Optix® integrated suite of products, announced today that the upcoming release of version 6.1 of their Optix Document Management and Workflow System would include encrypted access to online document repositories. In addition to the existing encryption supported by its full cross-platform client-server software for Windows™ and Macintosh™, mindwrap has enhanced its Optix Web server module to support the RC4 and DES encryption standards for browser-based clients, highlighting the company’s renewed focus on security and reliability.
Delivered as a fully functional and highly integrated solution, Optix is much faster to deploy than complicated “toolkits” that require extensive and costly development. Installation and training times are typically measured in days instead of months. Optix empowers system administrators and end users with a rich set of easy-to-use tools to quickly create and deploy new applications without programming.
According to Craig Landrum, mindwrap’s CTO, “The days of rushing to manage content for dot-coms are long gone. Today, clients are strongly focused on the security of their documents and reliably managing them for consumption by internal departments. And recent history has highlighted the need to generate offsite digital backups for all critical corporate information, and document imaging is an ideal and economical way to meet this need”.

Optix supports the entire line of Fujitsu scanners as well as selected Canon, Kodak, Vidar, and Mekel models. Unlike vendors that require the purchase of “dongles” and charge on a per-page basis, Optix scanner drivers are included in all system purchases and allow unlimited scanning with extensive support for features such as Patch Cards, named and saved scanner setups, imprinters, and customized interfaces that leverage scanner hardware features.

About Optix®
Optix installations may include Document Management, Imaging, Workflow, COLD/ERM, Text/XML Search, Forms Processing, Fax Processing, Database Publishing and integration with legacy systems. Optix is available for the Windows NT, Unix and Linux servers, Windows and Macintosh clients and supports Oracle, MS SQL Server, Informix or Sybase relational database management systems.
